For close to two decades, his reports were heard daily on the CHUM national network newscast. Between 1985 and 2002, his newscasts were heard daily, every hour, on Montreal’s CHOM-FM. His voice was also heard on “The Team 990”, during the morning show and in the afternoon, delivering sports, weather and traffic updates.

For sixteen years, his award-nominated commentaries aired weekly on CHOM-FM.

Also on CHOM-FM, he hosted and produced such information programs as “The Flip Side” and “In Focus”.

His voice has been heard on CHOM, CKGM, CHTX, CHUM, CFCF, CFQR, CFRA, CNN Radio, Radio Canada International, and on Jazz FM91 in Toronto, where he contributed daily reports on the 22nd edition of the Montreal International Jazz Festival, interviewing several prominent artists for his stories.

Not only has he done television hosting and reporting, Richard Dagenais has been a guest commentator on television, appearing on “The Wave”, a Toronto-based lifestyle show. He has also anchored morning and weekend newscasts for Global Television in Montreal.

He has appeared as a contributor on the Mystery Channel’s flagship show, “Mystery Ink”.

His voice appears on many commercials, offering both a straight or zany read. He’s narrated many corporate videos, technical films, several documentaries and his versatility enables him to do voicework for childrens’ projects, too.

He’s able to host public events in French and English and has hosted bilingual fund-raisers for schools. He has acted as MC for a Vanier College fund-raising golf tournament and supper and, in 2006, he co-hosted the televised Consumers Choice Awards at the Montreal Casino.

He is the voice of the Choice Hotel chain’s awards ceremony (2007 & 2008) and in 2008, narrated “The Truth About Kilimanjaro”, Quebec filmmaker Jerome Voyer Poirier’s stirring and visually stunning account of an expedition to the top of Africa’s highest mountain peak.

His voice can be heard in Pixcom’s production of “The Killer Next Door” (2008)

He has many character voices (click here for a sample) and has had roles in various Cinar and Ubi Soft productions (click here for performance credits).

As an actor, he’s worked as an extra in a few films and, as an athlete, had a role as a hockey player in a television commercial. As a sport actor, he can also play tennis, baseball, football, basketball, soccer, swim and mountain bike.

Being an accomplished singer, drummer and guitarist, he can also do music roles; and journalistic roles, such as news anchor or reporter, are a natural fit!
